Opening Segment:

Hulk Hogan comes out.  Talks about the #1 Contendor at Victory Road.  Says due to the countout from last week it will be a 4-way with Abyss, Jeff Hardy, RVD, & Mr. Anderson.  Abyss then comes out.  Abyss is no longer wearing the Hoganized jacket.  Hogan asks where he's going with this thing.  Abyss says he doesn't think anyone understands the seriousness of what's going on.  Says he's doing it for one reason, that "they" told him to.  He then says they are coming and when they get there there's nothing that Hogan, Bischoff or Dixie Carter can do about it.  Hogan whines that they had a deal. Abyss says "they" told them he didn't need Hogan.  Hogan asks "who is they".  Abyss says he doesn't need any of the colors or the ring anymore and that "they" will be there soon enough and that they will take TNA over.  He then says he doesn't need the garbage ring anymore and begins to choke Hogan and shoves the ring in Hogan's mouth.  Abyss then gets some broken glass and points towards Hogan.  RVD then comes out and fights off Abyss, though Abyss powerbombs RVD and then turns his focus back on Hogan.  Anderson then comes to the ring with a steel chair.  Abyss is still Hulking Up for some reason and Anderson runs off but pulld Hogan out of the ring.  Abyss then mutters about "They Are Coming".

Hogan is in the back talking to Bischoff about how he is disapoined in Abyss.  Bischoff is dumbfounded that he turned on Hogan for "no reason."  They try to decide who "they" are.

Then backstage in the bathroom, Madison Rayne is doing her makeup and putting herself over.  She then cuts a promo on Velvet Sky that she needs to get her head in the game for her match against Angelina Love tonight.

Match 1: Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky'

Winner:Velvet Sky via DQ when Angelina Love DDT'd her on the chair

In the back Jay Lethal is in the back and evidently his brother comes backstage and they talk about his dream match against Flair at Victory Road.

Kevin Nash & Eric Young are in the back talking about distancing himself from Scott Hall.  Looks like they are breaking up what is left of "The Band"

Matt Morgan then comes down to the "Impact Zone".  He comes out no longer speaking in the plural person.  He then goes on to brag about winning at Slammiverary.  He then calls out Hernandez.  Taz & Tennay say that Hernandez is in Mexico doing promotional work for TNA.  He then talks about their upcoming Steel Cage match at Victory Road.  Homicide then attacks Morgan from behind.  Morgan though gets the advantage and kicks his head into the turnbuckle.

In the back Flair is talking to AJ Styles.  Tells him to stick to the game plan.

Match 2: Kazarian vs. Jay Lethal

During the match they show AJ Styles and Ric Flair beating up Jay Lethal's brother.

Winner: Jay Lethal via the "Lethal Injection"

After the match Flair is on the big screen showing them beating up Lethal's brother to Lethal.  Lethal runs to the back to try to save his brother.

Match 3: Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting

Sting won't come down so Jarrett runs up the stairs to the rafters to find him.  While Jarrett is fighting with Sting on the stairs Sting shows up in the ring.  Jarrett realizes it wasn't Sting and the real Sting starts choking him out using the baseball bat.  Sting then goes on to attack Jarrett with the bat.

No contest

Sting then taking a page out of Abyss's book states "If you are going to run with them you are going to go down with them"  Though he was talking about Hogan & Bischoff.

Match 4: #9 Contendor Match
Kurt Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe

Winner: via the Ankle lock Kurt Angle

After the match Chelsea is smiling that Angle won even though she is still with Wolfe.

In the back Anderson is talking about his match with Abyss and that he will be ready for anything that Abyss pulls out in the falls count anywhere match.

In the ring Doug Williams is cutting a promo on the X-division and Kendrick.  He says he wants to teach him a lesson in sportsmanship & professionalism that he will never forget.  Brian Kendrick comes out looking as strange as ever.  Kendrick says he talked to the people in charge and that his X-divison championship will be up for grabs in an "Ultimate X" match that can also be ended by submission.  Doug Williams says they can end this tonight gentleman and walk out the ring and wait until July 11.  Of course Williams tries to jump Kendrick from behind but Kendrick blocks him and reverses it into the sleeper hold knocking out Williams.

Abyss is in the back saying no one seems to understand the situation.  He then says everyone will realize soon that he does what he does because they tell him to.  He then says that TNA will never be the same and that neither they nor him can be stopped.

In the back Shannon Moore is beating up "Brother Ray"  Devon then comes in and tells him not to test him and to leave "that kid" alone as evidently he attacked Jesse Neal first.

Match 5: Tag Team Championship Series Finals
Beer Money vs. Ink Inc.

Shannon Moore comes out alone as evidently Jesse Neal is still down in the back.  Motor City Machine Guns are on commentary and are hilarious.

During the match Tommy Dreamer, Raven & Stevie Richards come to the ring.  Tenay drills Taz if he knows why, the Motor City Machine guys say that Raven is upset that Shannon Moore took all of Raven's face paint.  Jesse Neal finaly makes it to the ring and is tagged in.

Winners:Beer Money

In the back AJ Styles and Kazarian are arguing once again.  AJ finally finds his package, which contains his own action figure.

Match 6: Falls Count Anywhere NO DQ
Mr. Anderson vs. Abyss

Winner: Abyss via pinfall

After the match Abyss continues to beat up on Anderson up the ramp.  At the top of the stage they go back and forth for a bit before Abyss chokeslams Anderson off the stage.  Hogan then comes out and hits Abyss with a steel chair. Abyss no sells it points at Hogan once again as they fade to black.

Final thoughts:

The "They are coming" angle is interesting if they have a payoff soon.  More than likely he is talking about an ECW style "invasion" Not sure how that will work.
Thankfully Matt Morgan is back to being one person again.
Motor City Machine Guns need more mic time.  They could be a modern day DX if given a chance.
Kurt Angle continues to be the best wrestler in the buisness today.

TNA News Update for 6/17/2010
Written by Tito    Thursday, 17 June 2010 22:52    PDF Print E-mail

*PW Insider is reporting that the TNA House show scheduled for July 25 has been postponed and that refunds will be issued.  No word the reason why or if the show will be rescheduled.

*Dixie Carter talked about the release of Scott Hall for "personal issues" which included a recent arrest outside a bar in the Orlando area.  From her twitter page at twitter.com/tnadixie "Scott Hall and I talked and together decided he needed time to focus on some personal issues. I am proud of the action he is taking."

* Hulk Hogan continues to become a spokesperson for companies that sell financial products that are not smart financial moves for consumers.  First Rent-A-Center which is the stupidest way to purchase a product from a financial standpoint as you will pay much more for a product than even its retail price than what it is actually worth.  Now he is being hired as the spokesperson for a car loan company that specializes in title loans which other than a lease is one of the most expensive ways to buy a car.  The best way is to save money and pay cash for a good used car which is the way that ProWrestlingPlanet.com endorses.  Its ironic that a guy that is having financial difficulties would endorse companies that enhance the financial difficulties of others...only thing left for him would be pay day loans to endorse for the financial ruin trifecta.  (Ok I'm now off my soapbox.

*Former TNA Knockout "Roxxi" issued a statement on her twitter account about her departure from TNA: "So excited! Today is my absolute first day off in about a good 3-4 wks. I'm going to relax and take the pup out and hopefully go see Pop ...Thank you all for the support. It means sooooo much to me and its what I for sure need right now. That and a way to cover up a new f'n scar!"  She has also launched her official website, www.nikki-roxx.org.

*PW Insider is reporting that Suicide will return to the ring but will not be portrayed by Kazarian.  Guess they needed someone to sell action figures.

Opening: Eric Bischoff is in his office stating that TNA is stripping The Band of the tag team titles due to Scott Hall's recent out of the ring situation (his arrest).  And that there will be a tournament to decide who will face the Motor City Machine Guns at Victory Road for the titles.

Match 1: Tag Team Tournament for Tag Title Shot Match 1

The Band (Eric Young & Kevin Nash) vs. Ink Inc

Winner: Ink Inc when Shannon Moore pinned Eric Young

Announcers say that the championship committee could not agree on the top three contenders so there will be a triple threat match between Mr Anderson, Abyss & Jeff Hardy.

Ric Flair's music hits and him along with his entire faction come out.  Ric Flair says he's going to make an announcement that will change the world of wrestling, then they goto commercial.

In the back the documentary style camera has Chelsea talking to Abyss saying she wants to be with him.  Abyss says to trust him she doesn't want to be around him.  Strange.

Backstage they show some TNA with Lacey Von Erich topless getting a massage.

Anderson is then walking backstage and is asked about his match with Jeff Hardy & Abyss and is asked if they will see the "Real Mr Anderson, he says it depends on who you think the real Mr Anderson is.

Jeff Hardy is now talking to the documentary style camera about the main event and about facing Anderson.  Anderson then comes in  and asks if he's ready for the big match.

In the ring Douglas Williams is talking about how the X-division as it was is now dead due to his tornado DDT.  He then says the X-division is going to be known for the ground based technical style that he is famous for and will give a demonstration of that now.

Match 3: Doug Williams vs Matt Buck

Winner: Doug Williams via tornado DDT

After the match Kendrick attacks Doug Williams and puts him in a choke hold knocking Williams out.

In the ring Angelina Love is talking about she has been sitting on the sidelines the past 6 weeks with an injury.  She then says she isn't going to waste another second of her career and is challenging Lacey Von Erich this week, Velvet Sky next, then Madison Rayne at Victory Road.

Match 4: Lacey Von Erich vs. Angelina Love

Winner: Lacey Von Erich via DQ when Angelina Love DDT'd her on a steel chair

In the back Jay Lethal is talking to Hogan who is in what looks to be either a supply room or the messiest office of all time.  Hogan puts Lethal over as being at a main event level.

Christy Hemme is talking about the main event match to Jeff Hardy and asks if he can trust Anderson.  Anderson then comes in and says looks like someone is stirring the pot.  He then compared him to a fight he would have with his brother.  They fist bump and go their seperate ways.

Match 5: Tag Team Championship Series Match 2

Team 3-D vs. Beer Money

Winner: Beer Money when Jame Storm pinned DeVon

In the back Desmond Wolfe tells Chelsea that he is a ticking time bomb and she has a chance to redeem herself.

Match 6: Desmond Wolfe vs. Jay Lethal

Winner: Jay Lethal

During the match Chelsea leaves but trips on the ramp, Desmond chases after her but Lethal throws him back into the ring as she leaves for backstage.

After the match Lethal celebrates in the crowd as Tommy Dream applauds from the crowd.  Then Wolfe attacks Lethal after the match dragging him to the ring as Flair comes out to the ring.  Wolfe holds Lethal for Flair as Flair attacks Lethal.  Hulk Hogan then comes out in one of the slowest run ins of all time for the save as Flair & Wolfe simply leave...maybe they just got bored of waiting for Hogan to come in the ring.  Hogan then says enough is enough and says TNA is on fire due to guys like Lethal.  Hogan then tells Flair to get out there for some big announcement.  He then makes a match at Victory Road of Ric Flair vs Jay Lethal.

They then announce their Top 10 rankings as follows:

10. Kurt Angle
9. Desmond Wolfe
8. The Pope
7. Jay Lethal
6. Samoa Joe
5. Sting
4. AJ Styles
The top 3 to be decided between Abyss, Jeff Hardy, & Mr. Anderson.

In the ring Jeff Jarrett is in the ring and calls out Sting to get some things off his chest.  He tells Sting to take off the glasses so he can know what he's saying as well as feel what he is saying.  He then reminds him that it was him who brought him into the company due to his "true iconic status" and that he wanted him to work with him.  He then says for the last 8 years they've given everything to the company and that until recently they treated each other with dignity.  He then says Sting was hell bent on ending his career but that he made one mistake of leaving him stand there.  Sting laughs.  Jarrett says next week he won't be lasting as they will have thier rematch.  He then says he's going to be fighting for Bischoff Hogan & the TNA fans.

Match 7: Triple Threat match for #1 Ranking

Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss

Winner: Triple count out

After the match Anderson is arguing with Hebner but Abyss attacks him from behind and then attacks Hardy as well before he chases Hebner from ringside.  He then throws both Hardy & Anderson in the ring.  Then throws Hardy out.  Then he hits Anderson with the "Shock Treatment".  Abyss then grabs some weapons and hits Jeff Hardy with a Kendo stick.  He then grabs a bag of broken glass and pours it in the ring. He then black hole slams Anderson into the broken glass.  From there he goes to Jeff Hardy who fights back momentarially before Abyss chokeslams him off the stage.  Looks like Abyss is turning heel.

Hogan then comes out asking what that is all about then Abyss points at Hogan saying "You".

Final thoughts:
A pretty decent Impact that seemed somewhat disjointed.  Such as Flair saying he's forming a new group but Tennay thought Wolfe had to win the match to be in the group.
I like the tension between Chelsea & Wolfe but not sure where they are going to go with it.  The foreshadowing of Abyss's turn when Chelsea was begging to be with him was very well done.
I didn't realize a countout was a possible ending for a triple threat match.
What was the purpose of Tommy Dreamer coming out and just sitting in the crowd?  If it doesn't lead to something big or more interesting then its a waste.
